Denise, Veterinary Assistant- Supervisor
I was born in New Jersey but relocated to Wilmington to attend UNC-Wilmington. I have grown up around mostly cats but enjoy all animals. While Atlantic Animal Hospital is not the first veterinary office I have worked at, I am glad to be a part of this family. The unconditional love and companionship that animals provide has helped steer my career path. My position here provides me amazing experiences which I hope will prepare me for attending veterinary school someday.

I have always appreciated the quirky personalities and unconditional love that animals possess. The opportunity to help advocate for these pets and be a part of that unspoken bond animals share with us drove me to seek working at Atlantic Animal Hospital. Since starting here in 2018, I have had the chance to develop skills as a kennel technician, patient care assistant and most recently transitioned to veterinary assistant. With this experience, the support of my team here, my boyfriend and my pets, Ernie, Theo and Miguel, I hope to continue my education and become a registered veterinary technician.

I have been born and raised here in Wilmington, NC. I love animals because they always put a smile on my face even on the worst days. I love working at an animal hospital because spending my time and helping them is what I love to do and I want to make a difference to those that need it. I have some experience with pet sitting for farm animals as well as working at a daycare facility and have had about 3 years experience as a vet assistant. I currently have 3 dogs; Kamdyn Ray, Heidi Mae, Tizzy Marie and an orange kitty named Fefe Lou. I hope to take all my experience and knowledge that I have and become a vet tech in the near future to open up different opportunities.

I'm from Columbus, Ohio, but moved to Wilmington while in high school. My family moved here because the city is so great! I love how beautiful animals are inside and out, and I have a strong desire to protect them. My experience began as a volunteer at my local zoo, and have worked in all pet related fields, but working at Atlantic has been one of the most educational experiences I've had! I came to work at Atlantic because I recognized a safe, clean, and experienced pet care environment! When I'm not learning at work I'm at home spending time with my own pets!
Anna Claire, Veterinary Assistant
I'm from Sumter, SC but grew up in Greensboro before moving to Wilmington for school. My love for animals stems from their unconditional love, and this passion is why I have been working in animal hospitals from a young age! I have spent a lot of time in the field, but Atlantic's amazing and unique treatment options are why I love working here. In my experience, I have developed a love for the moments where treating a pet brings peace to their owners. I live with a roommate and beta fish named Kalani, and love spending time with my two Blue Heelers Ozzy, and Ruby when I'm back home! Eventually I plan to apply to vet school so I can take my passion to the next level!

I have been surrounded by animals, and the veterinary field, for most of my life. My mother, who works in a veterinary office in Beaufort, encouraged me to volunteer when I was just 13. This grew into me finding my path as a veterinary assistant. The ability animals have to understand and make connections with us is amazing and what drives my ambition to become a licensed veterinary technician one day. For now, I am honing my skills and enjoying the opportunity to care for the animals that are entrusted to Atlantic Animal Hospital.

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia, where I grew up most of my life. I moved to North Carolina about 3 years ago because I wanted to be closer to the beach and warmer weather. I started working at Atlantic Animal Hospital in 2022. I have always had a passion for working with animals and Atlantic Animal Hospital has given me that opportunity to fulfill my dream. I plan on going to school in the near future to become a vet tech. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my newly adopted dog, Wyatt. I also enjoy spending time at the beach and time with my family.
