I jumped at the chance to live by the beach after having spent my childhood in Lancaster, PA. I chose to be a part of the Atlantic Animal Hospital team after hearing of a customer service position opening from my, then neighbor, Mica (a technician here). I have spent my life around animals and can't think of a more rewarding way to spend my day then caring for the pets that come through the doors. My cats Marina & Simba are nice enough to share their home with my husband, Sean and myself. We hope that a future addition of a German shepherd will complete out furry brood.
Like most everyone of my coworkers, the unconditional love of animals is what has drawn me to a career in the veterinary field. Growing up in Spivey's Corner, NC, there was never a shortage, and variety, of animals surrounding me. I loved the trips to the local veterinarian with our pets and watching the advancements in veterinary medicine over the years. While attending UNC- Wilmington for Environmental Science, I volunteered with Paws 4 People where I was able to help train service dogs. In addition to this experience, I have worked in customer service and animal care at a doggie daycare facility and have a menagerie of personal pets which include,5 dogs, 3 guinea pigs, 3 rats, a turtle and a fish. I hope to establish an animal sanctuary where I can help abused and neglected farm animals.
Dogs, cats, birds, lizards, you name it, I love them all! As a little girl I always wanted to save the injured animals I found and older animals are also very special to me. That's how I knew I wanted to work at a veterinary office. I have a dog and a cat of my own, who are very dear to me. When I was a little girl, I volunteered at veterinary clinics and grooming shops, then as I got older I began working as a kennel assistant and a technician assistant. I joined Atlantic Animal Hospital as a receptionist which I enjoy because, not only do I get to interact with fur babies, but I get to talk with their owners as well.
Where to start, I was born and raised here in Wilmington. I have always wanted to work with animals. My plan is to become a vet tech and eventually work with all sorts of animals including small exotics and reptiles. I heard about Atlantic Animal Hospital through a friend I worked with who is a Receptionist here with me now. While working at Atlantic, I also work at Petsmart, and I work hands on with the pets there. I have been an animal lover my entire life and have 10 pets of my own including: 3 dogs, 3 guinea pigs, 2 hamsters, a cat and a bearded dragon.

I moved to Wilmington from Tennessee for my family and the beautiful beach. I wanted to work at an animal hospital to have a better understanding of pets and their medical needs. I want to be able to help pet parents give their pets all the love and care they deserve. I specifically came to Atlantic Animal Hospital because they have great values and the teamwork environment is wonderful here. I have four of my own rescue pets that I love dearly and I also work with a therapeutic riding program. My long term goal is to dedicate myself to earning my veterinary technician certification and continue to work with animals for years to come.

I was born in Raleigh and raised in Cary NC, I moved here with the military and decided to stay in the area and attend school. I have previous experience working in a veterinary office, volunteering with local animal shelters and fostering dogs. I love animals because they have such unconditional love and chose Atlantic because of the welcoming staff and the positive environment. I think some of my strengths come from becoming independent and having the motivation to push myself to do what is best for me and making a good future for myself. I currently have a German Shepard named Athena who I adore. She loves long walks and playing fetch. I am currently in school to pursue my veterinary technician degree.
